This uniqe, giant maquette was built by Ilona Miskei and it is made of 4 and a half million fossilized shells. Miskei started building the 1:33 scale model of the Parliament in 1975 and worked on it for 14 years.

The decoration of the 7,5 meters long, 2 meters wide and 2 meters high maquette are 28 million years old fossils from multiple mines around Hungary. People from abroad wanted to buy the Snail Shells Parliament in 1999 but Ilona Miskei rather gave it to the ethnographical museum of Keszthely.
